Dear Lion,
In my home country of Germany, it is autumn. The leaves on the trees are vibrant in color. For some of you, it may be the beginning of summer. No matter what corner of the globe, you are experiencing the sensation of the seasonal changes in nature. Seeing these changes brings to mind the way that we Lions change lives through our Foundation.
Below you will read about a young girl - Amber - who has gained mobility. Mobility that would have been lost, had it not been for the belief of us Lions in her abilities. Lions in Australia and LCIF gave her the tools she needed, and even brought a smile to her face. For Amber, the change meant she no longer lived in a wheelchair but instead can use a walker. She calls it her "magic stick."

There are so many more people in need, like Amber. They need us, Lions. They
are counting on us. We can provide them with opportunities to learn
life skills. Opportunities to again experience the joy of
independence.Opportunities to see for the first time.
And
our Foundation also needs us. I'm asking you to give this opportunity
to so many others like Amber. You can make these opportunities a
reality.During this season of change, you can create a positive change
in the life of someone in need.
If
every Lion in the world became a Contributing Member, just think of the
impact we could have globally. Can I count on you to become a
Contributing Member?
With cordial regards,
Eberhard J. Wifs
Chairperson, LCIF |

A Playground for Amber Just
one year ago, seven-year-old Amber Farlow was unable to walk and
confined to a wheelchair. Today, Amber is experiencing the joy of
walking. Her mobility would not have been possible without Lions. A
new playground was constructed at Amber's school, supported by LCIF and
Lions from Multiple District 201, Australia. Now, Amber is enjoying the
playground, just like all her classmates. |

Become a Contributing Member, Support Someone in Need What
do nearly 100,000 Lions have in common each year? They become
Contributing Members by donating at least US$20 to LCIF. The
Contributing Membership program is an annual program that recognizes
three levels of support: US$20, US$50 and US$100. Donations support our
humanitarian efforts, with 100 percent of every contribution going to
LCIF programs. Become a Contributing Member today and help someone in need. |

Partnership with Special Olympics Grows During the 2010 Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia Regional Games, Lions screened the 200,000th athlete through the Special Olympics-Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes Program.
To continue and expand this program, LCIF recently awarded a grant of
US$1.12 million. To date, LCIF has contributed more than US$12.2 million
to support the partnership, which is celebrating 10 years of service to disabled athletes. More than 12,000 Lions have volunteered in the program. |
